Michael Pineo is a USDF Gold and Silver Medal award recipient, FEI trainer and Grand Prix CDI competitor, international coach and member of the International Dressage Riders Club.

Mike starts all of his own horses, and has trained and sold numerous amateur and FEI / Grand Prix dressage horses. Clients include trainers / riders from Germany, Holland, France, Canada and other countries as well as a former American Olympian and others throughout the U.S.

Mike prefers to train all of the horses personally without working student assistance, and teaches riders of all levels up to Grand Prix. Not all of Mike's students choose to compete, though. Many benefit from working with him to improve their riding and create a happy and harmonious partnership with their horse.

As a competitor, Mike has established many horses' show careers. He consistently achieves excellent national and CDI scores including a perfect "10" for piaffe. See our FEI Gallery to meet some of these horses.

Mike's most recent CDI horse Farrington, who he started and trained, achieved scores to 71% at the Grand Prix level in National and CDI competitions in the US with Mike. Farrington is now successfully competing in Europe and represented Belgium at the 2022 U25 European Championships under Glock rider Nico Nyssen The pair have since been moved up to the Belgium A Squad aiming for Paris 2024.

Mike is currently campaigning his lovely mare, Geneva. With National GP / GPS scores to 70%, she will make her CDI debut in 2023.
